1793 Tax List for Sussex Co., NJ !NEW!
Township Index for Hardiston, Hardwick, Montague, New Town, Sandyston, Vernon, Walpack and Wantage. Because Warren county was set off from Sussex in 1824, this list includes the townships of Greenwich, Knowlton, Independence, Mansfileld and Oxford


1773-74 Hardiston Township
Formed from Newton Township in 1762. At the time these taxes were assessed in 1773 this it would have included what is now Vernon Township.

1773-74 Knowlton Township
Formed from Oxford in 1764, both of which were part of the original Township of Greenwich.

1774 Montague Township
Formed from Walpack in 1759.

1774 Newtown Township
One of the original Townships in 1753, Newton would have included those townships now known as Andover, Byram, Frankford , Hampton and Newton at the time these taxes were assessed.

1774 Sandyston Township
Formed from Walpack in 1762.

1773-74 Greenwich Townhip
One of the original four Townships that made up Sussex County, NJ in 1753. By 1773 it no longer included Mansfield-Woodhouse or Oxford Townships.

One of the original Townships when the county was formed in 1753.

1773 Oxford Township
Formed from Greenwich in 1754.
