GOBLE, Jacob, passed away Wednesday morning Feb. 27. His funeral was held from the house Friday afternoon, the interment being in the family plot in the Methodist cemetery, Rev. Louis A. BENJAMIN, officiating in this instance. Mr. GOBLE was the son of Theodore and Anna MAINES GOBLE and was born in the house where he died, in the 62nd year of his age. He is survived by two children, Herman, aged about 13, and one daughter of 10; two brothers, Harvey GOBLE and James GOBLE, residing in the immediate vicinity of the homestead farm and by his mother, Mrs. Mary A. GOBLE, who is so ill with pneumonia that but small hope is entertained of her recovery.

GOBLE, Herman Sparta – The funeral for Herman Jacob Goble, 44, of Sparta, will be held this afternoon, Thursday, at the Goble Funeral Home at 2 p.m. The Rev. A. L. DeWire, formerly of the Sparta Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Sparta Methodist Cemetery. Mr. Goble, who had lived in Sparta all his life, died suddenly of a heart attack while at work at the Plastoid Company in Hamburg early Monday morning. A member of the Sparta Fire Department, he was the son of the late Jacob and Gertrude Goble. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Lenora Goble; a son, Herman Jr., of Sparta; three daughters, Betty Lou, Barbara Sue and Mary Ann, all at home; and a sister, Mrs. Gladys Smith, of Ann Arbor, Mich.

GOULD, Mrs. Sarah Day, widow of the late Jonathan GOULD, died Tuesday night at the home of her son-in-law, Robert EVANS, from the infirmities incident to advanced age, lacking but three months of being eighty-four years old. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Sarah DAY, a lineal descendant of the original settlers of the township, and was born and spent almost her entire life in the immediate vicinity. In early life, she marred Jonathan GOULD, who was called to another world nearly forty years ago. To them were born eight children, *five sons and two daughters, three of who have passed on before. She is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Robert EVANS with whom she has made her home for the past few years, and Mrs. John PITNEY, of Middletwon, and three sons, Elias, of Merrill, Wisconsin; David Sayer, of Kent, Washington, and William L. of Montville. The last services for the departed will be held in the Presbyterian Church Friday aftrernoon, Rev. Mr. Becker, of the Presbyterian, and Rev. Mr. Tinney, of the Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery at Sparta.

GRIMM - The funeral of Frank E. GRIMM, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob GRIMM, of Newton, who died Monday of last week in West Easton, Pa., was held last Saturday afternoon from Christ Episcopal Church, Newton. Mr. GRIMM, who was twenty-eight years old, is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Edna MASTERS; two sons, Earl and Donald, three and five years old; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob GRIMM, of Newton; two brothers, Charles, of Newton, and Clarence, of Corona, L.I., and one sister, Miss Caroline GRIMM, of Newton.

GUNDERMAN, Barret (Sparta Correspondent) The funeral for Barret Gunderman will be held from his late residence in Sparta on Thursday afternoon of this week, Rev. Charles E. Hoyt, pastor of the Sparta Presbyterian C hurch will conduct services and the interment will be in the family burial plot in the Methodist Episcopal cemetery. Mr. Gunderman had been a sufferer for some years with a distressing lung trouble that permitted him to continue his daily avocation until within the last year or two, since which time he had been slowly less able to attend to the affairs of life. The end came last Tuesday morining, when he passed quietly away, the candle of life simply burned out in the socket. The deceased was 68 years and some months of age at the time of his death. He was born in this immediate vicinity, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Gunderman and spent the greater part of his life in Sparta, where he was esteeemed as one of the most industrious of our citizens, a man of good character and reputaion, one of who none could say aught in disparagement. He is also survived two sisters, Mrs. George APPLEMAN, of Greendell, and Mrs. Geo. ONSTEAD, of Belle Meade, near Somerville. He is connected with a widely scattered number of more distant relatives in the county. He will long and favorably be remembered by those with whom he mingled in the ordinary affairs of life.

GUNDERMAN - The funeral of Mis Emma Gunderman of the Hopewell neighborhood, was held from the Methodist Episcopal Church last Sunday afternoon; the intermant was made in the Gunderman burial plot in the Presbyterian cemetery. Her pastor, Rev. Lewis A. Benjamin, officiating in each instance. She was the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George and Almira (RIKER) GUNDERMAN and was a native of Sparta township where her entire life had been spend. She was about forty-four years of age and is survived by her father and one brother, John Gunderman, both of Hopewell, and a large number of more distantly connected relatives. She died at the Paterson General Hospital on Thursday from a complication of ailments. Miss Gunderman was of a quiet retiring disposition and an earnest and devoted worker in the church services of her neighborhood having the respect of this entire community and will be greatly missed in social and church circles of the vicinity where she was best known..

GUNDERMAN, Robert R., died about 3 o'clock, Sunday morning at the home of his sister, Mrs. Ella Emery, of Sparrowbush, N.Y. in his seventy-eighth year. Besides the sister above mentioned he is survived by two sons, Roy, of Hamburg; Samuel of Smith's Mills, one daughter, Mrs. Mary F. BABB of Sussex. The body was brought to Roy Gunderman's home later in the day. Funeral: Hamburg Baptist Church, the pastor, Rev. Mr. Brynildsen officiating. Interment North Hardyston Cemetery. (Thought to be the same person as Bowdewine Roy Gunderman)

GUNDERMAN, Mrs. Sarah A., died Tuesday of last week, at home in Paterson, aged 71. Survived by husband, Peter C. GUNDERMAN, daughter Mrs. Charles A. SHEPHERD of Jersey City. They are formerly of Swartswood. Burial in Newton cemetery.

GUNDERMAN, Mrs. Susan, wife of B. R. Gunderman, died Sunday, aged seventy-five years. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Autter, and had lately resided in Sussex. Besides her husband, she is survived by six children, Mrs. Jack CONKLIN, of Sussex; Charles A. of Great Meadows; Chauncey COURTRIGHT, of Rudetown; Mrs. Marietta BABCOCK, of Sussex; Samuel GUNDERMAN, of Franklin, and Roy E., of Franklin. She also leaves two brothers, Joseph AUTTER, of Libertyville, and James AUTTER, of near Sussex, and one sister, Mrs. Huldah ABER, of Hainesville. Funeral Sussex Methodist Episcopal Church, Rev. A. J. Bliss officiating. Burial: North Church Cemetery.
