COATES, Mrs. Janet TAYLOR , wife of Gilbert COATES, of Trinity street, Newton, died Wednesday at Newton Memorial Hospital. Born in Boonton sixty-seven years ago. Surviving also are four sons, Harold, George, and Gilbert Jr., of Newton, and Delmar, of Warwick; three sisters, Mrs. Agnes BARTHOLOMEW, of Syracuse, N. Y.; Mrs. Alice MILLER, of Dover, and Mrs. John MUNSON YOUNGS, of Mt. Tabor, and a brother, John TAYLOR, of Boonton. Funeral: At the home. Burial: Newton Cemetery.

COLE, Elias, a well-known resident of Goshen, died at his home in that town last Saturday. Mr. COLE was born in Montague on November 8, 1845. February 7, 1872, he was united in marriage to Naomi E. SPACE, who survives him with two daughters, Addie, wife of E. B. HARFORD, and Ada, at home. Last January Mr. and Mrs. COLE celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary. Funeral: At his late home on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock Interment: At Goshen.

COMPTON, Mrs. Nora COYKENDALL, sixty-two, wife of Charles J. COMPTON, of Endwell, Endicott, N. Y., died Wednesday of last week. Dau/of the late Mr. and Mrs. Theodore COYKENDALL, was born in Sussex, and lived here until her marriage a number of years ago. She leaves also two daughters, Mrs. Helen ONEY and Mrs. Gladys VANETTEN; two sons, Raymond and Kenneth, all of Endicott, and three sisters, Mrs. George STRUBLE, of Ogdensburg; Mrs. Mazie COYKENDALL and Miss Loena COYKENDALL, both of Sussex. Funeral: At Endicott and burial took place there.

CONKLIN, Jacob, of Rudetown, died early Sunday morning in Linn Hospital, Sussex. Three children survive him as do one brother, Jack Conklin, of Franklin, and one sister, Mrs. Ella Card, of Franklin. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. H. J. Allsup, of Franklin, officiated. Interment was in North Church Cemetery.

CONKLIN, Lafayette died Jun 17, near Tuttle's Corner, aged 42 yrs. Born in Hainseville, son of the late Jacob and Belle CONKLIN. Married Miss Lulu ABER, who survives him. Also survived by three sons and four daus, Lafayette, Jr., James and Thomas, Mrs. Mary HOLTEN of Morristown, Grace, Louise and Florence, at home; also his mother, fours sisters and two brothers. CONKLIN, Mrs. Susanna (Jacob), died at her home in McAfee last Wednesday. She was in her twenty-seventh year and was born at Rudeville, the daughter of James and Mary Gunderman BABCOCK. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Ellsworth and James, and two daughters, Marion and Ruby. Funeral services were held at the Hamburg Baptist Church Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. Rev. R. F. Bresnahan officiating. Interment was in North Church Cemetery.

COOPER, Elmer E., died last Thursday at his home on FOSTER street (Newton.) He was a retired farmer and was born August 30, 1861, in Tranquility, the son of the late Caleb S. COOPER and Amanda BATLEY. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Fred MARTIN, of Newton; a granddaughter, Miss Kathryn MARTIN, and great-granddaughter, Miss Virginia MARTIN. Funeral: At the home. Burial: Tranquility Cemetery.

COOPER, Mrs. Sarah Emaline (Sickles), wife of Zachariah Cooper, died Saturday at her home in Andover, age sixty four years (63.10.23). Mrs. Cooper was born in Warren county. Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, William Cooper, of Germany Flats; John Cooper, of Greenville, Sussex County, and Dawson Cooper, of Andover township. Three sisters, Mrs James Quayle, of Port Lawrence; Mrs. Matilda Stout, of Washington, N.J. , and Mrs. Rosetta Main, of Andover, and one brother , George Sickles, in the West. The funeral was held Wednesday from the home. Rev. B. S. Crowcroft, pastor of the Andover M. E. Church, officiated. Burial was in the cemetery at Johnsonburg.

CORNELL, Albert D., Sr., died early Monday at the home of his son, Albert D. Jr., in Newton at the age of 83 years. Mr. CORNELL was born in Cambridge, Vermont but had lived nearly all his life in New Jersey. Three sons survive: Albert Jr. and John R., both of Newton and Stephen of Franklin. Funeral: At his late home, 10 Foster street, Newton, by Rev. Dr. James R. DALLING, of Stillwater. Burial: Newton cemetery

GIVEANS, of Deckertown, and by three children, Eva, a teacher in New York City, and Emma and Lizzie at home; also by one sister Miss Eva COUSE of Kansas. Funeral: Monday from his late home. COX, Mrs. Caroline, for many years a well known and esteemed resident of Deckertown, had just departed this life at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph WILSON, near Quarryville, where she had been stopping for some time. She was 62 years, 3 months, and 14 days old. Her parents were the late John J. and Sarah ROE, of Wantage, where she was born. She was united in marriage when about 24 years of age to McCoy COX, of Wantage, a younger brother of James and William COX, of Deckertown, and Nicholas COX of Wantage. He died about 30 years ago. She is survived by two children. Mrs. Alice WILSON, of Quarryville; and Nicholas J. COX, of Deckertown, and by one brother, Jacob D. ROE, of Paterson; also by two sisters, Mrs. Simeon M. GARRISON and Miss Hattie ROE, of Deckertown. Funeral: At the house of Mrs. Wilson’s and at the Baptist church in Deckertown. Interment: Deckertown Union (Papakating) cemetery.

COX, Lewis J., Sr. died at the home of his son in Newton, on Wednesday, aged about 83 years. Born: S/o James and Sarah Jane COX, late of Wantage township, where the deceased resided until about thirty-eight years ago. Survived by: Two sons, Martin J. and Lewis J. COX, Jr., both of Newton, and a grand-daughter, Margaret COX, of Dover; a sister, Miss Meribah COX of Sussex. He married Margaret DEWITT, of Wantage, who died a number of years ago. Funeral: Saturday at his late home in Newton at 3 p.m. Burial: Newton cemetery. Cox, and Franklin P. Cox of Middletown city (NY), and Mrs. Maurice H. Small of Oshkosh, WI (three children by first marriage). Funeral: Vernon Espiscopal Church. Burial: In the cemetery near there.

COX, Mrs. Martin Bross, died in Vernon Sunday night. Survived by: Three children, Mayor Rosslyn M. COX, and Frank P. COX of Middletown (NY), and Mrs. Daniel M. H. SMALL of Oshkosh, MI Funeral: Vernon Espiscopal Church. Burial: In the cemetery at that place.
Note: The two sons and daughter mentioned above were NOT children of Mrs. Cox; rather step children. hey were born to Martin B. Cox’s first wife, Sophia Penny. Mrs. Small, is in error—it is Maurice H. Small of Oshkosh, Wisconsin (not Michigan)!

CRABTREE, William, of Vernon, died Wednesday. Mr. Crabtree was probably 65 years of age. He is survived by his wife and one daughter, the wife of Mr. VEALY, son of the late John VEALY, of Vernon.

CRAWLEY, Mrs. Catherine, formerly a resident of Franklin Furnace, died at the home of a relative, Mrs. Anna McEnery, in New York city, where she had resided for the last 20 years. Deceased had attained the great age of 96 years and died from the infirmities of age. Her remains were brought to Franklin on Monday, where the funeral was held at the Catholic church. Internment near by.

CRAWLEY/CROWLEY, Patrick, died on Friday, last at his home in Franklin Furnace, aged 82 years. He was a long time resident of that place, and had worked in the zinc mines fifty years. He was born in County Cork, Ireland, and came to this country a young man. He married Mary Morris, of Franklin, who survives him with five daughters, Mrs. Catherine Rahaley, of Paterson; Mrs. Mary Van Iderstine, of Paterson; Mrs. Margaret Lynch, of Paterson; Ellen and Elizabeth at home. He is also survived by a brother, Timothy Crawley, of Paterson. The funeral was held on Monday at 10 a.m., in the R.C. Church in Franklin Furnace, Rev. Father McGuinness officiated. Interment in Ogdensburg.
